Late March and it was time to seed the Wildflower Area in Riverside Gardens to encourage more growth.

After a lot of rain earlier in the month we really didn't know when we could cut the grass and get our Spring seeding underway. However, with some fine weather and the ground drying out, our Council colleagues duly obliged and we were able to scarify the ground and and get the seed in.

It's hard work raking to get the ground roughened up to receive the seed, but as usual our intrepid volunteers rose to the challenge and we were able to get the job done.

The seeds were a mixture of annuals and perennials. The annuals allow us to get some instant colour while the perennials take a while to settle in!

Let's hope we get a nice array of colourful flowers by the middle of summer!
